Fulham’s Tom Cairney reacts to Sasa Lukic message following contract breakthrough
Fulham captain Tom Cairney has followed up his contract announcement by reacting to team mate Sasa Lukic.
Cairney has been at Fulham for 10 years since signing from Blackburn in 2015 when the Cottagers were in the Championship, and the 34-year-old became captain of the club in 2017.
The midfielder has officially extended his stay at Craven Cottage for another season after signing a new one year deal at the club.
Cairney was the subject of interest from Wrexham amid contract discussions with Fulham, but upon signing a new contract he has confirmed he will not be moving to North Wales.

Lukic steps up Fulham preparations
Cairney will now join his Fulham team mates for pre-season training ahead of the club’s fourth successive Premier League campaign.
Midfielder Lukic took to Instagram to share pictures of him starting training with the caption: “Getting ready for the new season,” which was liked by Cairney.
The Serbian made 35 appearances for the club last season as they finish 11th in the Premier League table and made the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Settled Fulham not rushing into market
Football Insider Verdict
Marco Silva will be delighted to have kept the experience of Cairney in the squad, as Fulham look to build again on another successful Premier League campaign.
Cairney is now a squad player under Silva, after only starting six games in all competitions last season.
However, his hard work ethic and leadership will help set standards within the changing room.

Fulham had problems with inconsistency which Silva needs to address if the club are going to progress and fight for European places.
Towards the end of the season the Cottagers also only won four of their final 10 fixtures, highlighting the need for more depth in their squad.
The club though have been quiet in the window so far, with a move for Kyle Walker from Manchester City not materialising.
Silva may have to replace striker Rodrigo Muniz if he joins Leeds, but the club are currently rejecting any offers from the Yorkshire outfit.
Free agent and former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin could arrive, but otherwise noises are quiet from the club on any incomings.
