Gabbidon: This is admirable about senior Tottenham figure despite Liverpool loss

By Will Butcher

Daniel Gabbidon has commended Mauricio Pochettino as he continues to place faith in his Tottenham players.

Pochettino watched from the Anfield dugout as Liverpool strolled to a 2-0 win over his surprisingly lacklustre Spurs side thanks to a brace from flying winger Sadio Mane.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, retired Premier League defender Gabbidon claimed that “you have to admire Pochettino” as he retains his “blueprint” with the north London giants.

Pochettino has continued to believe in his Tottenham stars, despite a number of sloppy defensive mistakes from the likes of Kyle Walker, Ben Davies and Hugo Lloris throughout Saturday’s clash.

The former Southampton boss has also continued to trust his academy stars, with the likes of Harry Winks catching the eye after breaking into the first team this season.

Spurs have been in fantastic form of late with nine wins in their last 12 league and cup outings.

However, the loss to Liverpool in Saturday’s evening kick-off has now given Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side the chance to go 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

They will do just that if they can overcome a resilient Burnley side at home on Sunday, which could swing the title race even further into the west London side’s hands.

In other Tottenham news, Manchester City have reportedly sanctioned a move for this 20-year-old Spurs ace.
