Gabriel gets Myles Lewis-Skelly reaction after Arsenal message

Myles Lewis-Skelly has responded to his Arsenal teammate Gabriel after their remarkable Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven.

Mikel Arteta‘s side made the trip to the Netherlands on Tuesday night (4 March) for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

It would turn into an incredible evening as Arsenal produced a 7-1 demolition of their hosts to all but secure their place in the quarter finals of the competition already.

Not surprisingly, many of the Gunners squad have been keen to celebrate that result, with Gabriel now among those to join in that trend.

Gabriel issues two word response to Champions League win

It was a memorable night for many in an Arsenal shirt, with Martin Odegaard, Ethan Nwaneri, Jurrien Timber, Leandro Trossard, Mikel Merino and Ricardo Calafiori all getting on the scoresheet.

Gabriel meanwhile helped keep Arsenal defensively solid to play his part, and taking to Instagram he too gave a strong response to that win.

Posting a series of pictures from the game on his post, the centre-back then included a two-word caption that simply read: “BIG WIN”.

One Gunners player who had a tougher night in the Netherlands was Myles Lewis-Skelly with the Arsenal ace fortunate not to be sent off for a second yellow card early on.

That led him being substituted with barely half-an-hour on the clock, which led to Areta being praised for his management of Lewis-Skelly.

Despite that the left-back is seemingly still pleased with how things went, with the teenager among those to like that post from Gabriel.

Arsenal can believe after PSV thrashing

Football Insider Verdict

Given they are a long way behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race, the Champions League could be the Gunners’ best chance of silverware this season.

After a performance such as this against a side who have been a threat in that competition over recent months, Arsenal will surely now believe they can be successful in this competition.

Arteta’s side have also put to bed some of the questions about their ability to find the back of the net after finding the net as frequently as they did against PSV.

With that in mind this is a that surely has to give Arsenal plenty of confidence and optimism for the remainder of the season.
