Gabriel Jesus’ next destination revealed as Arsenal exit looms

One club is queuing up to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus amid the Brazilian’s injury problems in north London.

Jesus signed for Arsenal from Man City in 2022, but his time at the Emirates has been plagued by injuries including numerous knee injuries.

Arsenal are open to offers for Jesus in January, with the 28-year-old set to be behind Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz in the pecking order when he returns.

Mikel Arteta’s side have started the season in fine form, with Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham putting them top of the Premier League table by a point over Liverpool.

Palmeiras president calls for Gabriel Jesus return

Football Insider exclusively revealed in August that Jesus plans to return to Brazil when his Arsenal career comes to an end.

Now as per The Metro, [10 October], Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has publicly spoken out calling for Jesus to return to the Brazilian club.

Gabriel Jesus, I’ll say more. Soon you’re coming back home, Gabriel! One day you’ll return,” Pereira said.

Jesus began his career at Palmeiras before joining Man City in 2017.

Jesus to be axed amid Arsenal’s squad depth

Jesus is unlikely to play any part for Arsenal this season and with the attacking talent at Arteta’s disposal, the striker may not be missed.

Arsenal have coped with injuries to Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka so far thanks to their squad depth from a busy summer of transfer activity.

Jesus’ flexibility across the forward line can make him a useful squad player, but he has not been able to prove his fitness throughout his career at the club.

A summer of heavy spending means Arsenal may need to sell a star name, and Jesus looks likely to be that player.
