Gabriel Magalhaes slammed by pundit after Arsenal footage emerges – ‘You cannot do that’

Kevin Campbell has called for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes to “tidy up” his passing.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Highbury favourite fears the 24-year-old suffers from “a lack of concentration” at times after the 2-1 victory over Wolves.

As shown on Sky Sports (24 February), Bruno Lage’s side were gifted the opener on Thursday after a sloppy back-pass from Gabriel was intercepted by Hwang Hee-chan.

The Brazilian has formed a formidable partnership at the Emirates this season alongside summer recruit Ben White.

When asked for his assessment of Gabriel’s mistake, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Maybe it is down to a lack of concentration.

“It is not as if it was a short pass though, it was a misplaced pass. It was a back-pass that was misplaced by a couple of yards.

“Fair play to Hwang, he anticipated the mistake and finished the chance off well. Perhaps Ben White could have blocked him off but that is just hoping.

“Gabriel has got to tidy that up. He has got to work on it. At this stage of the season, you cannot be giving any teams a goal head-start like that. There is too much at stake.”
