Gareth Southgate in pole position for Premier League manager job after confirmed news
Oliver Glasner confirmed on Friday that he will depart Crystal Palace at the end of the season.
The news comes after weeks of speculation regarding Glasner’s future at Selhurst Park, with the manager overseeing the most successful spell in the club’s history.
As a result of the news, Glasner has been linked to the Man United job, with Michael Carrick only set to take charge of the Red Devils until the end of the season.
However, for Crystal Palace, fans will now be keenly anticipating who will be the Austrian coaches’ successor, with the bookies tipping Gareth Southgate to take charge.

Gareth Southgate early favourite for Crystal Palace job
Southgate has been out of work since he left England at the end of Euro 2024.
His legacy as Three Lions manager remains mixed, with some arguing that he should have won at least one trophy with the squad at his disposal.
Nevertheless, many now highly rate the coach after his work with England.
In recent times, Southgate has been heavily linked with the Man United job.

However, the bookies now believe that the former Middlesbrough boss has an excellent chance of coming in at Selhurst Park upon Glasner’s departure.
One bookmaker has Southgate as 6/1 to take over, making him the joint-favourite for the job alongside Steve Cooper.
Who else is in the running for the Crystal Palace job?
As it stands, many managers from all different backgrounds are being backed to have a chance of taking over from Glasner.
The joint third-favourites are currently Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna and Getafe boss Jose Bordalas, who are both 8/1.
Bordalas has been linked to Palace for weeks, with the Spaniard impressing at the La Liga outfit.
Currently, Getafe are 13th in La Liga, with a poor run of form seeing them dip down the table.
An outsider for the role is Inigo Perez at 10/1.

Perez is the current manager of Rayo Vallecano, with the coach doing an impressive job in La Liga.
The side are 11th in the table and could potentially find themselves in the race for European football before the season is over.
However, it remains to be seen who is in charge of Palace come the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
