Garnacho responds to ‘crazy’ Jude Bellingham message after Man United latest

Manchester United are trapped in a period of uncertainty as several of their historic rivals turn heads at the Club World Cup.

Ruben Amorim faces a difficult task to truly overhaul his squad this summer despite the early addition of Matheus Cunha, with Man United fans happy to see almost all of their other attacking players moved on.

The out-of-favour trio of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford will all return from their loan moves with their futures uncertain, but Garnacho is arguably the very first player Amorim will want to get rid of.

Garnacho’s off-field actions have shattered his reputation in the eyes of both Amorim and United fans, and his social media post in an Aston Villa shirt has fuelled speculation that he will leave this summer.

Real Madrid star sparks ‘crazy’ Garnacho response

Garnacho’s apparent fondness for other clubs has seen him linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal this summer, but the Argentine has also expressed admiration for one of Real Madrid‘s star players.

Jude Bellingham posted on Instagram (1 July) after Los Blancos progressed to the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup with a 1-0 win over Juventus, with Trent Alexander-Arnold setting up their winning goal.

The England playmaker’s post said; “Next step, quarter finals. Great graft from the boys!”, and among responses from other exit-linked players like Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, Garnacho left a comment to call Bellingham a “crazy player”.

Garnacho and Man United a long way off Club World Cup

Football Insider Verdict

With qualification for the Club World Cup based on clubs’ success in the world’s major continental competitions, Man United are currently a long way off and won’t even participate in Europe next season.

Chelsea are the only English side still in contention after Manchester City’s shock exit at the hands of Al-Hilal, and they’re even strengthening mid-tournament with the signing of Brighton forward Joao Pedro.

Pedro’s move to Stamford Bridge may be rushed through in time for their own quarter-final clash, but Chelsea will be in no hurry to wrap up a deal for Garnacho after the attitude he’s shown at Old Trafford.

Garnacho’s consistently poor off-field demeanour and inconsistent on-field form and has surely soured his reputation to most interested clubs, and it will be no surprise to see Chelsea pass up on the chance to sign him this summer.
