Gary Lineker delivers two-word verdict on Newcastle after 1-1 draw v Crystal Palace
Newcastle hung on to secure a vital point in their Premier League game against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at Selhurst Park and Gary Lineker praised Benitez’ side for showing “real resilience”.
The away side took the lead after Mohamend Diame poked home a Kenedy corner.
But they couldn’t hang on for three points and Luka Milivojevic just about converted a penalty to claim a share of the spoils in a crucial six-pointer at the bottom of the table.
Gary Lineker delivered his verdict on Twitter as soon as the final whistle had blown.
He said that he couldn’t believe how Crystal Palace hadn’t won the game but did praise Newcastle for showing ‘real resilience’.
Not quite sure how Palace didn’t pinch it. Credit to Newcastle, though, for showing real resilience .

The draw takes Newcastle one point away from the relegation zone but it was far from a convincing performance.
They stay in 16th place while their opponents today, Palace, move above Southampton into 14th spot.
It looks like it’s going to be a long season for Newcastle fans.
