George Campbell has been linked with a summer move to Celtic as the club looks to solve their defensive issues over the coming months.

The 24-year-old centre-back currently makes his trade at West Bromwich Albion, where he was crucial in their battle to survive the drop this season.

Overall, the defender made 39 Championship appearances before the campaign ended on Saturday, with the US international being a key performer.

Now, with CeltsAreHere on 2 May confirming that Celtic are pursuing a £2.5million deal for Campbell, a move to Parkhead could be on the cards.

Luckily, everything points towards Campbell being a bargain for Celtic.

Since joining the Black Country club in the summer, Campbell quickly established himself as a star player.

According to Fotmob on 2 May, the defender averaged an 84.9 per cent passing accuracy, 55.9 per cent duels won, 1.81 tackles, 5.23 clearances and 0.29 clean sheets per 90 minutes.

If this can be replicated and improved on in Scotland, he could be a bargain buy for the Hoops.

While he is unlikely to dislodge Liam Scales and Auston Trusty from the starting XI, he could be a fantastic option in the squad.
