Aston Villa tipped to complete ‘next level’ signing by John McGinn’s pal
Georginio Wijnaldum could rocket Aston Villa to the “next level”, according to Alan Hutton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Villa and Spurs full-back insisted Wijnaldum still has a lot to offer the Premier League and Aston Villa could afford to bring him back to England.
Spanish outlet Sport reported last Friday (4 March), the Midlands giants have been told it will cost £21million to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

It is claimed they have already enquired over a potential deal for the Dutchman whose move to PSG has not quite worked out.
He swapped Liverpool for the French capital last summer (2021) and has played 29 times across all competitions but has made just 14 Ligue 1 starts.
“There’s no question that he is a fantastic player,” Hutton, who is close friends with regular golf partner John McGinn, told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“It’s not quite worked for him at PSG but he’s been there, seen it and done it in the Premier League.
“He’s still got a lot to give. It’s a deal that Aston Villa can afford, obviously.
“They could do with a player like that in the midfield. He’s creative, can make things happen and score goals. He’s a leader too.
“If you want to get to the next level these are the sorts of players you need in your football cub to raise the standards within.
“With Gerrard at the helm, he’s got that sway to get players in there so that would obviously help.”

Wijnaldum has 27 goals and 16 assists in 217 Premier League games for Newcastle United and Liverpool.
The 31-year-old won the Premier League title and Champions League while with Liverpool.
