‘Get him gone’ – Leicester fans destroy Caleb Okoli after re-analysing footage from Norwich City

Leicester City’s survival hopes took another hit on Saturday as they lost 2-0 to Norwich City at the King Power Stadium.

Gary Rowett remains on the hunt for his first victory as the Foxes manager after two second-half goals condemned them to yet another defeat.

Once again, Leicester’s defending remained susceptible, with Caleb Okoli falling foul to a poor moment in the build-up to Norwich’s opener.

Now, with the Foxes remaining in the bottom three, fans were quick to target Okoli on X, demanding that he be dropped from the starting XI.

Leicester fans do not want to see Caleb Okoli play again this season

The 24-year-old centre-back has been a mainstay in Leicester’s team this season, but has not won over the hearts of many fans.

Okoli has continued to play a part in the Foxes’ leaky backline and was even sent off in the 2-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic in January.

Against Norwich, he did himself no favours and once again surrendered a clean sheet when Anis Ben Slimane hit the back of the net on 68 minutes.

As a result, supporters have had enough and have called for Okoli to be benched for their next match against Ipswich Town.

How bad was Okoli vs Norwich City?

While Okoli did have a poor game against Norwich, Fotmob on 28 February does not believe that he was the worst player on the field.

Overall, he managed to complete 96 per cent of his passes, made 16 clearances, two tackles and won all of his aerial duels.

While these stats are not particularly poor, and in many ways some are pretty impressive, it shows how a simple error or lack of defensive awareness can see opinion turn no matter how well you might have done beforehand.

For Leicester, they simply have to move on as quickly as possible and cannot ponder on such defeats when they are stuck inside the relegation zone.

Norwich was a winnable fixture, and the fact that they took zero points is highly concerning in their battle to beat the drop.

Instead, Rowett will have to look towards the match at Portman Road to pick up his first win, with Leicester set to take on Ipswich on Saturday.
