‘Get him gone’ – Wolves fans tear into Tolu Arokodare as ‘awful’ stats emerge vs Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have made it clear that they do not want to see Tolu Arokodare play in the Championship after Friday’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

The loss has essentially ended the Old Gold side’s season, with their exit from the FA Cup giving them little to play for.

While it was always a big ask to knock out Liverpool, compared to Tuesday’s victory, many players were extremely poor.

This includes Arokodare, with the striker once again failing to find the back of the net.

As a result, many fans have seen enough and called for the attacker not to lead the line next season as Wolves tumble into the Championship.

Wolves fans fume with Tolu Arokodare after Liverpool display

Tasked with leading the front line against Liverpool, Arokodare struggled heavily.

The striker won few attacking headers against the Premier League champions as he struggled to keep the ball up.

When the ball was played to him on the ground, he would often miss his touch or simply fail to get a shot away, despite being in a good position.

For many at Molineux, this was the final straw, with the striker now failing to find the net in his last seven appearances.

As a result, many have called on Edwards not to play him in the Championship next season, with Arokodare’s transfer to Molineux proving to be a failure to date.

How bad was Arokodare vs Liverpool?

According to Fotmob on 7 March, while Arokodare was not the worst Wolves player on the pitch against Liverpool, he certainly did not have a good game.

Despite being on the pitch for 75 minutes, the striker failed to have a single shot, completed only four passes, completed just one dribble and was even dispossessed once.

While he did help out defensively by making four clearances and two recoveries, his lack of attacking threat left much to be desired.

Therefore, it is obvious to see why many Wolves fans are sceptical about Arokodare leading the line in the Championship after consistent poor displays in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old can return to form in their next game as the Old Gold side travel to Brentford on 16 March.
