‘Gibbs-White release clause emerges as Nottingham Forest to Tottenham exit nears’
Morgan Gibbs-White’s release clause may now be the catalyst for a swift exit from Nottingham Forest to Tottenham.
The England international enjoyed the best season of his career last term, scoring seven and assisting eight in the Premier League.
Gibbs-White’s wonderful link-up play with Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Newcastle-bound Anthony Elanga spearheaded Forest’s qualification for European football.
But despite sitting third for much of the season, a late-season loss of form saw the Tricky Trees tumble down the table, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were forced to settle for seventh place, and a spot in the Conference League.

Tottenham ready £60m move for Gibbs-White
Tottenham are undergoing an overhaul this summer, having replaced Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank.
The former Brentford manager has been brought in to improve the North London club’s results in the Premier League.
Despite a slow start to the summer, Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, and are now in talks with Forest to bring Gibbs-White to the capital.
John Percy of The Telegraph revealed on X that the midfielder has a £60million release clause that Spurs are “ready to trigger”.
Nottingham Forest struggling to keep hold of stars
Football Insider Verdict
In the space of just a few days, Forest look set to lose half of the attacking quartet that were so instrumental to their success last season.
Rather than providing a sense of security, qualifying for Europe has instead shone a light on the Tricky Trees’ stars.
Gibbs-White’s potential departure always felt like an inevitability, but a move to Tottenham is somewhat surprising.

The England international was heavily linked with a move to Man City, before the dethroned Premier League champions signed Rayan Cherki.
Joining Tottenham, a team that finished 17th last season, seems like an odd move for Gibbs-White.
However, the bigger issue at hand for Forest has been their inability to hold onto their stars and supporters will be desperate to see the club keep hold of other in-demand players like Murillo and Hudson-Odoi.
