Gibbs-White responds to Neco Williams’ Nottingham Forest post

Morgan Gibbs-White was among Nottingham Forest teammates to praise Neco Williams after an update following his appearance against Tottenham.

Nottingham Forest boosted their Champions League hopes with a vital 2-1 win over Spurs on 21 April — their first victory in three matches.

Elliot Anderson and Chris Wood both found the net early to give Nottingham Forest a solid lead, and although Richarlison pulled one back late on, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side held firm with a resolute defensive display.

It was another impressive showing in a strong campaign under Espirito Santo, with the win in North London providing a crucial three points in what remains a tightly contested race for a top-five finish.

Williams, who started once again against Tottenham, played a key role throughout the match and marked a milestone with the club following the final whistle.

Neco Williams marks Premier League milestone after Tottenham win

Williams reached a significant personal achievement after Forest’s 2-1 win over Tottenham, joining the Premier League centurion club with his 100th appearance in the competition.

The defender, who has made 30 league appearances this season, shared a short but meaningful message on Instagram after the match, writing: “100 Premier League appearances and 3pts.”

He received plenty of support from teammates, with goalscorer Anderson commenting “Congrats” while Gibbs-White and Wood also showed their appreciation by liking the post.

Williams has proven to be a key figure in Forest’s campaign, starting on both sides of the defence throughout the season.

Across his 2,353 minutes on the pitch, he has contributed two assists and one goal, while helping maintain the team’s strong defensive form.

His versatility has made him a reliable part of Espirito Santo’s backline alongside the likes of Ola Aina and Murillo, as the club continues its push for Champions League football.

Man City eye Morgan Gibbs-White amid Nottingham Forest form

Forest’s top performers haven’t gone unnoticed, with Morgan Gibbs-White now attracting interest from Manchester City.

Football Insider revealed on 11 April, Man City are monitoring Gibbs-White as a potential long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne, with Gibbs-White named among four possible midfield signings.

The Forest star is also keen to become a regular for England under Thomas Tuchel, and after being left out of recent squads, a move to the Etihad could provide the platform to solidify his international future.

For now though, the focus remains on the final stretch of the season. Both Gibbs-White and Williams are playing vital roles as Nottingham Forest aim for a historic Champions League finish.
