‘Gibbs-White still ready to join Man City after Cherki amid absurd Forest notion’
Morgan Gibbs-White has not ruled out joining Man City from Nottingham Forest in this summer’s transfer window.
The attacking midfielder enjoyed an impressive campaign last season for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side, which has seen him attract transfer interest from elsewhere.
Man City have been heavily linked with Gibbs-White in the last few months, as they look for replacements for the departing Kevin De Bruyne.
However, it was recently suggested that Pep Guardiola’s side had cooled their interest in the Nottingham Forest star.
That came after Man City had signed another attacking midfielder in the form of Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, although Gibbs-White is still keeping his options open.

Morgan Gibbs-White transfer stance emerges
According to a new update from the Daily Mail, the Nottingham Forest man remains willing to make a move to the Etihad this summer if City were to come back in for him.
That would see him get the chance to play under Guardiola and compete for trophies, as well as link up with his good friend Phil Foden.
As things stand, the 25-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at The City Ground, which is apparently worth around £60,000 per week.
It is stated that amid that interest from Man City, the England international has not shown any inclination to extend his deal with Nottingham Forest.
But while his current club supposedly claim Gibbs-White has never rejected a contract offer from them, the suggestion they have never attempted to secure his future is described as “absurd”.

Man City transfer appeal is understandable
Football Insider Verdict
While they may have missed out on any major silverware during the 2024/25 season, it is no surprise that a move to the Etihad still remains tempting for the likes of Gibbs-White.
Man City were tipped to spend money in the summer transfer window, and are already doing that with the additions of the likes of Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait Nouri.
That puts them in a strong position to get back to winning ways when it comes to trophies next season, thus making them a tempting prospect for other potential signings.
From a financial perspective as well, it is likely the Citizens would offer Gibbs-White more than he is currently on at Nottingham Forest, also meaning it makes sense he would want this move.
However, with both Cherki and Reijnders capable of contributing to attacks from a midfield role, another option in that position is unlikely to be high on the list of priorities for Man City.
As a result, Gibbs-White may well be disappointed if he really is hoping for a move to the Etihad this summer.
