Giorgos Giakoumakis could spark Celtic exodus after what pundit has seen
Alan Hutton has insisted players will “have to” leave Celtic in the upcoming windows.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers right-back said current players will have to “show their worth” to have a chance of staying at Parkhead.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (4 February), Giorgos Giakoumakis has agreed a deal with MLS side Atlanta United worth £4.3million.
As quoted by footballscotland (3 February), Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou said he is not afraid to let more top players leave in future windows.
Postecoglou insisted his side will be open to offers for players in the future.
When asked if Celtic will be more focused on outgoings than incomings in the summer window, Hutton told Football Insider: “They will have to.
“The manager wants to put his own stamp on his team, he wants his guys through the door. Ultimately the other boys that are there, they need to show their worth and if not they will move on.
“But at the end of the day they have got contracts, so whether they sit that out or there is an opportunity for them to move we will have to wait and see.
“You would think in the summer that it might be time for a few of the fringe players to go.

“Celtic have done their business early on, they can learn through January how Ange wants to play and move forward and be strong together.
“They are in a good place at this moment in time but if there are players coming in some will have to leave.“
