Glasgow pundit issues Man United-Moyes claim as they’re told ‘get him in ASAP’

Man United must “stop messing around” in their hunt for a new manager and should have kept faith with West Ham boss David Moyes.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider

On 26 January, The Sun reported Man United’s hunt for a new manager is on hold with interim boss Ralf Rangnick impressing club chiefs.

Rangnick has Man United up to fourth place in the Premier League after his side won three of their last four league games.

Despite this, McAvennie insists the Red Devils need to make progress in their hunt for a new boss.

“The first job for this new manager, whoever he is, is to move these players on,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I’m not going to name names but there are players who have no right to be at Man United.

“Everyone knows it, it’s clear as day. It’s a big rebuild job they need to do there.

“That rebuild could already be underway if they hadn’t appointed another temporary manager.

“They need to appoint this guy and get him in as soon as possible, stop messing around, get it done.

“Then they have to give him time. Imagine what the club would be like if they had given Moyes time?”

Rangnick has only lost one of his 10 games in charge of the Red Devils.

Man United are next in action against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on 4 February.
