Goldson told to reject big-money move and sign Rangers contract after latest twist – pundit
Danny Mills has insisted Connor Goldson should reject a big-money move to another club and stay at Rangers on less money.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender claimed quitting Ibrox would be a “gamble” for Goldson and he should only do so if he offers a significant pay rise elsewhere
The Scottish Sun reported on Sunday (23 January) Championship clubs Nottingham Forest and West Brom are fighting to land the centre-back on a pre-contract deal.

He is out of contract at Rangers at the end of the current campaign and can negotiate with other clubs.
The Gers have already agreed a pre-contract deal of their own with Hearts centre-back John Souttar who will move to the club in the summer.
Asked for his verdict on Goldson’s future, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Sometimes staying where you are is often the bset thing you can do.
“To leave can be difficult. You use whatever you can and you’re clever. If that means having to play the game a little bit to get yourself a new contract then you do it.
“There’s an awful lot to be said for being at a club and being happy. If it means getting slightly less money to stay where you are as opposed to moving for slightly more money, sometimes you’re better off staying where you are.

“That extra bit of familiarity helps you. Moving is always a gamble, you never quite know what’s going to happen.
“Unless it is drastic, I would suggest maybe stay where you are.”
In other news, Rangers have been tipped to spend ‘a lot of money’ on a January transfer after the latest update.
