‘Graham Potter after Angel Gomes and Jonathan David double-swoop at West Ham’
West Ham manager Graham Potter is plotting to sign Lille duo Angel Gomes and Jonathan David in the summer transfer window, according to a report from The Guardian.
The former Brighton and Chelsea manager took charge of the Hammers back in January, and looks set to guide them to Premier League safety this season.
It was suggested last month that the departure of technical director Tim Steidten was a “huge boost” for Potter at the London Stadium.
The new West Ham manager was apparently responsible for that change behind the scenes, and it appears his plans for the transfer window are now already beginning to take shape as well.

Graham Potter keen on transfers for Lille pair
According to this latest update from The Guardian, the club are targeting deals to sign both Gomes and David on free transfers in the summer transfer window.
His former club Man United and Tottenham were both previously linked with Gomes, who is out of contract at Lille in the summer.
The England international is expected to leave the French side when his deal expires at the end of the season, as he looks for a new challenge.
Potter is said to be keen to bring a new holding midfielder to West Ham and has identified the 24-year-old as someone who fits the mould that he wants.

With the Hammers boss also targeting a striker, he is keen on another Lille player in the form of David, who has 13 goals in 22 Ligue 1 games this season.
He too is out of contract in the summer, at which point David is expected to move on with Newcastle having monitored the striker earlier in the campaign.
West Ham though are now seemingly keen as they look to add to their firepower when the window reopens in the summer.

West Ham must complete double transfer deal
Football Insider Verdict
It would be an excellent piece of business for the Hammers if they were able to complete a double deal for these two targets.
Gomes is a hugely exciting midfield talent, who would provide a solid base at the centre of the park for West Ham.
Meanwhile, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug have been hampered by injuries this season while Evan Ferguson is only on loan.
A new striker therefore feels like a priority come the summer, and David has shown consistently over the years for Lille that he is a very reliable goalscorer in that role.
These two players could therefore be big assets for West Ham if they sign, in deals that would boost the confidence around the club when considering who they have been linked with in the past.
