Graham Potter gutted as controversial Chelsea player footage re-analysed – pundit
Alan Hutton has insisted Chelsea won’t regret signing Joao Felix.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that although Graham Potter will be disappointed with Felix, he will have been pleased with his footballing performance.
As shown on Sky Sports (12 January), the 23-year-old was sent off on his debut against Fulham following a reckless challenge on Kenny Tete.
The forward is set to miss the massive clash against Liverpool on Saturday (21 January) as part of his three game ban following the red card.
As relayed by talkSPORT (13 January), Graham Potter’s side agreed to cover 100 per cent of Felix’s £250,000-per-weel wages during the five month loan.
As a result, Chelsea will have to fork out £1million in wages before he next steps onto the pitch.
But when asked if Chelsea will be regretting the loan deal for Felix, Hutton told Football Insider: “I do not think they will regret it.
“It is obviously a lot of money for the loan and in wages. I think against Fulham he showed what he was all about, he had about ten shots in the first 15 minutes. He is definitely giving them that spark.

“It is obviously disappointing for Graham Potter to lose him for three games, especially with the injuries they have already got. But I think he will give them something.
“He looks energetic, he wants to please, he gets fans off the seats. It is just unfortunate. It was not a great tackle from him but I think he just got carried away in the moment. He will learn from that.“
