Graham Potter rightly ‘excited’ as sources share triple transfer update at West Ham
Graham Potter has already shifted focus ahead to the upcoming transfer window, with updates emerging on three potential West Ham signings this summer.
With his right-hand man, Kyle Macaulay, now alongside him at the London Stadium, it should be quite an exciting transfer window for the fans, who have endured a difficult campaign across all competitions.
West Ham fans are ready to get rid of Konstantinos Mavropanos, Danny Ings, Guido Rodriguez and Vladimir Coufal at the end of the season, and that might just be the start.
David Sullivan backed Julen Lopetegui last summer but, apart from Niclas Fullkrug’s recent rise in form and some solid work from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, multiple of Tim Steidten’s signings have backfired and he is no longer at the club.
While the Hammers remain sitting 16th in the Premier League, there might be good news about Jonathan David, Chris Rigg and Kyle Walker-Peters, with Potter predicting an “exciting summer” in East London, and apparently for good reason ahead of a possible triple-swoop of free transfer arrivals.

David Sullivan needs to splash the cash at the London Stadium again
Sources told The Athletic (12 April), David’s representatives have already held “positive” talks with the Hammers’ hierarchy, with the striker’s current deal at Lille expiring this summer.
No European football could potentially be a stumbling block, but with a squad overhaul on the cards, sources have shared new updates on possible deals for Sunderland’s Rigg and Southampton’s Walker-Peters.
It is understood that scouts from the London Stadium continue to monitor Rigg, with Man United and Newcastle United also interested, while Walker-Peters is being viewed as a replacement for Vladimir Coufal.
The Irons had the chance to seal the Saints defender’s signature last summer, but with the £20million asking price seen as too high, Wan-Bissaka was preferred instead.

Graham Potter desperate for new striker in East London
Football Insider verdict
Despite Fullkrug and Ings both being available to the former Brighton and Chelsea boss, he often prefers for Jarrod Bowen to deputise through the middle, which both David Moyes and Lopetegui chose.
The signing of David would send an incredible message to the rest of the league and would certainly solve the Irons’ current issues in the final third. They cannot continue to put the weight of the world on Bowen.
Having signed for Lille in 2020, David has been absolutely incredible, even scoring 23 of his goals in European competitions, showing the world exactly what he is capable of.
Player | Games | Goals | Assists |
Jonathan David | 226 | 107 | 28 |
Without Michail Antonio available at West Ham, the team often find themselves with no recognisable number nine through the middle, and the Canada international would solve that exact problem.
Of course, the Hammers have more obvious problems than just the final third, with their defence often open wide in the Premier League, and they will need more than just Walker-Peters to change that.
However, with three positive updates on three major players across Europe, fans have every right to be excited ahead of the summer transfer window, so too with Potter and Macaulay.
