Graham Roberts hails highly criticised Tottenham player after win v Arsenal
By Harvey Byrne
Tottenham great Graham Roberts has hailed current full-back Ben Davies after he completed the full 90 minutes against Arsenal on Sunday.
The 24-year-old left-back started the match at White Hart Lane against the Gunners with usual first choice Danny Rose still recovering from an injury.
It marked Davies’ 19th league outing of the season and he gave a solid display in the 2-0 win as he performed well down the left hand side of the pitch, keeping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain quiet while also helping his team keep a clean sheet in the back line.
However, supporters were highly critical of his display on Sunday afternoon and one fan suggested that he was “the glaring weakness” in the team.
But, Roberts himself disagreed with that view and applauded Davies after the match on his personal Twitter account, claiming he believed the Welshman to have had a “cracking game.”

Davies has been at Tottenham since the summer of 2014 after completing a move from Premier League rivals Swansea for an undisclosed fee.
He has so far struggled to establish himself as a regular starter when Rose is fit with just 85 appearances in total for the north London club, but he will be hoping that improves with four years remaining on his contract.
