Harrison Armstrong to be absolutely crushed amid new development at Everton

Harrison Armstrong has made incredible strides as an Everton player since returning early from his loan at Preston North End.

Preston fans were heartbroken after Armstrong’s departure, with the youngster making 17 appearances for the Championship outfit, where he notched one goal and one assist.

Since his loan deal ended, the 19-year-old has made four appearances, including 120 minutes in the FA Cup, while also playing a huge role as Everton beat Aston Villa 1-0 away from home.

He has filled in brilliantly for the injured Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but even so, the Toffees have struggled for form across all competitions, and especially in the Premier League.

David Moyes handed major boost as new injury update drops

Everton also beat Nottingham Forest in recent weeks, with their form seeing David Moyes‘ side move to 10th in the Premier League standings, with Leeds United up next.

While Armstrong is yet to notch a goal contribution, he has added a new dynamic to the final third, getting fans on their feet and making many excited about the club’s academy.

However, that could soon come to an end for the young attacking midfielder. Moyes has been waiting for several players to return from injury, and the Toffees have been handed a major boost.

According to The Bobble (22 January), Dewsbury-Hall is set to return to first-team training, having been sidelined since picking up his injury against Chelsea on 13 December.

Everton to welcome back Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with open arms

Everton are already without Jack Grealish, possibly until the end of the season, with a stress fracture, so this news could not have come at a better time for the club on Merseyside.

Before his injury, the former Chelsea and Leicester City man was experiencing one of his best seasons in years, notching four goals and two assists in 16 appearances.

There is no doubt that Moyes will throw the 27-year-old straight back into the lineup as soon as humanly possible, and that can only be bad news for Armstrong.

Whether the youngster gets shifted out to the left flank or gets dropped to the bench altogether, it is likely to be an update that hinders the player’s development, limiting his minutes on the pitch.
