Tottenham transfer news: Harry Kane told not to sign for Man United after £100m update – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Harry Kane should snub a “sideways move” to Man United if he wants to win silverware.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Tottenham have “more chance” of winning a trophy than the Old Trafford club.
According to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell (28 March), £100m-rated Kane, 28, is a target for Man United this summer – no matter who is installed as Ralf Rangnick’s successor.
The Tottenham hitman is yet to lift a major honour with the club despite netting 243 goals in a Lilywhites shirt.
He is under contract at Spurs until 2024.
Agbonlahor claimed Man United’s rich history will have no bearing on their future ability to win titles.
“I think Harry Kane wants to win trophies, that’s for sure,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“But he’s not getting any younger and he’s not going to be able to achieve that at Man United any time soon.
“I do feel like that’d be a sideways move. Yes, Man United have got all this history – but that’s not going to win you titles at the end of the day.
“I think he’s got more chance of winning a trophy at Tottenham than at Man United, to be honest.
“If he wants to win silverware, I think he’s better off leaving to a club guaranteed to get that success.”

Man United’s last trophy success came in 2017 – when Jose Mourinho lifted a League Cup and Europa League double.
Fifth-place Tottenham currently lead the Red Devils by one place and one point in the race for Champions League qualification.
