Harry Kane: Big update on Man United swoop for £200,000-a-week Tottenham star
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is at the top of the Man United shortlist as the summer window approaches, sources have told Football Insider.
Those with knowledge of the situation have revealed that the 29-year-old is the “number one priority and top target” for the Red Devils.
Kane is seen by Man United chiefs as the “difference maker” who will help them bridge the gap to Man City and allow them to compete for the Premier League title in the coming seasons.
Sources have told Football Insider that a move for the England captain “will not be an easy deal to do” despite his dwindling contract at Spurs.
Kane, who currently earns £200,000-a-week in north London, has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal.
This site revealed on Sunday (8 May) that the striker has told Tottenham he will not sign a new contract until a manager is appointed.
He is believed to have been consulted about a potential new manager at the club following the sacking of Antonio Conte in March.
Kane has scored 28 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions this season.
The red-hot striker’s Premier League total of 26 for the 2022-23 campaign is just four strikes away from his best-ever tally of 30.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the talisman, with ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly eyeing a reunion with Kane as he prepares to take the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

Man United are keen to add an elite striker in the summer window and have also been linked with Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.
Erik ten Hag’s side are well-placed to secure Champions League football for the 2023-24 campaign despite back-to-back losses against Brighton and West Ham.
