Harry Kane could push for Tottenham move amid ‘huge’ behind-the-scenes claim – expert
Noel Whelan has claimed Harry Kane “deserves” to win major honours in his career and could push again for a Tottenham exit following his World Cup heartbreak.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 29-year-old would command a “big fee” for Spurs next summer (2023).
Kane saw another major trophy slip out of his grasp on Saturday (10 December) after missing a crucial penalty in England’s 2-1 World Cup quarter-final loss against France.
The Three Lions captain, who has notched 277 club career goals, has finished runner-up in the League Cup, Premier League, and Champions League with Spurs.
Kane pushed for a transfer to serial-winning Man City in the aftermath of England’s Euro 2020 final loss last summer (2021) – a move which ultimately failed to materialise.
The striker has been extensively linked with German giants Bayern Munich with his Tottenham contract set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “This season will be concentrated on Tottenham, but there are big decisions to be made at the end of the season.
“He’s got to decide what he wants to do, and Spurs have got to decide if they want to take a huge fee with a year left on his contract.
“Big conversations need to be had, just like after the Euros final last year.
“How long has he got to wait before he can win trophies and start really competing in the Champions League every year?

“This is a player who deserves to win a league title in his career, whether it’s in England or abroad.
“Kane deserves to look back at his career and see winners’ medals.”
