Harry Kane: This Tottenham duo are incredible

By Harvey Byrne

Harry Kane has been full of praise for Tottenham midfield duo Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele, labelling them as “incredible”.

The two players have played in 51 encounters between them in all competitions this season and have seemingly built up a formidable partnership after Wanyama joined in the summer.

The Kenya international provides the strength and power in the centre of the park, while Dembele brings energy and class with some neat footwork.

The pair have been key to an impressive Tottenham side this campaign and their teammates and manager have paid tribute to them both following the 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

One member in the squad to heap praise on the duo was star forward Kane, who shared that not only do they help shield the defence, but they often start attacks too.

“They are incredible and they’ve been fantastic this season,” told Kane to the official club website.

“They are so powerful, so strong and good on the ball as well, so when the ball drops to them they are able to get out of situations or pass forward and start attacks as well.

“They did it so well, they know the balance because they don’t want to drop too deep and they know how to sweep in front (of the defence) and win second balls as well. They win the ball, start counter-attacks and get the ball rolling. They are very important players for us.”

The success of individuals such as Wanyama and Dembele in the Tottenham team has seen the north London club sit in second place in the Premier League.

They are currently nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, but many within the Spurs ranks will be keen to take the Blues all the way after last season’s experience at Stamford Bridge.
