Harry Kane’s Tottenham future has been decided after confirmed news – expert

Ange Postecoglou won’t be able to convince Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs and Rangers defender insisted the appointment of a new manager won’t impact Kane’s decision as to whether he stays at the club or not.

The London club confirmed the appointment of Postecoglou as the permanent successor to Antonio Conte and one of his first acts of business will be to sort out the future of the England international.

Last month (9 May), this site revealed that the 29-year-old is a top target for Man United ahead of the summer transfer window.

But last week (31 May), sources told this site that United are not optimistic about reaching an agreement with Spurs for their star striker.

Kane is entering the final year of his deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but has been widely linked with a move away this summer with interest from teams like Chelsea and Bayern Munich, as well as United.

When asked if Kane could be tempted to stay at Spurs to play under Postecoglou, Hutton told Football Insider:I do not see why not but I think ultimately Harry will make his own decision.

I do not think the manager will matter too much, I think it is down to him and where he sees his future.

I do believe he wants to stay in England and break Alan Shearer’s record but I think that decision will come down to him and not what manager is going to be in place.”
