Harry Kewell backed for new manager role after ‘big’ Celtic news – pundit
The chance to work at Celtic will have been a “big lure” for Harry Kewell as he tries to reboot his managerial career, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Rangers and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, backed the 43-year-old to hone his skills under the tutelage of Ange Postecoglou before returning to management in the future.
According to Sky Sports (10 June), Kewell is set to join Postecoglou’s backroom staff – nine months on from his sacking at Barnet.

The former Australia winger enjoyed a glittering 17-year playing career – which included spells at Liverpool, Leeds United, and Galatasaray.
However, Kewell has struggled to replicate that success in management and has been sacked in roles at Notts County, Oldham Athletic, and Barnet.
Hutton claimed the experience of working at a club like Celtic could help the ex-winger back onto his feet.
“I think often when you get the taste of that hot seat you want to continue,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“But he’s had a few setbacks now in management and Celtic are a club on the up.
“They’re in the Champions League, won the Scottish Premiership last season – so it will have been a big lure for Kewell.
“He can also learn from another manager – someone who has been there and done it in Postecoglou.
“I’m sure after the experience he gains from this role, he’ll go back to doing what he does – and that is being a manager.”

Celtic will play in the Champions League group stage in the 2022-23 season after winning the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops will start their title defence against Aberdeen on 31 July.
