Harry Maguire sends nine-word Man United message after surprise twist
Harry Maguire has sent a message to Man United fans about the direction that the club is heading in after their latest Premier League result.
The 20-time champions came from behind at Anfield on Sunday (5 January) as Amad Diallo scored an 80th-minute equaliser to draw the game 2-2 after Lisandro Martinez had originally given them the lead.
While United were unable to defeat their rivals the result did mark only the fifth time this season that Liverpool have dropped points in the Premier League and was viewed as a surprise by many given how both teams had been faring leading into the fixtures.
The point gained helped Ruben Amorim’s team move up to 13th in the league table as the team continues to try and get back to where they feel that they belong.
That was the sentiment Maguire was pushing to fans as he said on X, “Much better performance – Time to build on this now.”
United are without a win in their previous five matches in all competitions, with their last victory coming against Man City on 15 December.

The Premier League giants have opted to trigger a one-year extension in his deal which will keep the 31-year-old at Old Trafford until 2026 at a minimum.
Maguire has become a regular in the United team since Amorim took charge as he’s featured in the previous eight matches and started the last five.
Amorim’s decision to deploy a back three has benefited Maguire, although the club have only kept one clean sheet in the Premier League since the new manager’s arrival.
United will be back in action on Sunday (12 January) when they face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
