Harvey Elliott ‘keen’ on Leeds move as Liverpool transfer gets green light

Harvey Elliott is “keen” on the idea of a move to Leeds United as he prepares to leave Liverpool this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old has no future at Anfield with his loan spell at Aston Villa due to expire imminently, and with his contract running out next year, the Reds are planning to take their final chance to cash in on him.

Arne Slot has already given the green light for the starlet to be sold ahead of 2026-27, and sources have indicated that the player himself would be interested in the chance to move to Elland Road.

Elliott’s main priority is to find a club where he will receive regular gametime as part of his next move, and Daniel Farke feels that he can provide that for him in West Yorkshire.

Leeds want to strengthen their squad again after consolidating their place in the Premier League this term, and they are eyeing up a move for Elliott as a sign of their future intent.

Harvey Elliott deal won’t come easily for Leeds

Elliott has long since been earmarked as a hugely promising talent, and both Liverpool and Aston Villa have been searching for a solution for his difficult loan spell this term.

The starlet has been limited to just nine appearances in all competitions, with the Villans deciding early on that they didn’t want the permanent deal that would’ve been triggered on his 10th outing.

Now, Elliott is trying to secure a fresh start to get his career back on track, and he will have no shortage of options available to him in the coming months, with Liverpool ready to sell for just £25million.

Leeds are one of the strong suitors for the former Fulham academy graduate at the moment, but plenty of interest is expected to surface soon, from both the Premier League and abroad.

Elliott has been a target for clubs in the Bundesliga in the past, and it is expected that could be a potential avenue for him to explore once again this summer.

Nevertheless, the Whites are strong contenders to secure his signature after sealing Premier League survival, and if they can put a compelling case forward to his camp, then they may get a deal over the line.

Whites set to face familiar transfer battle with Sunderland this summer

Leeds became accustomed to battling Sunderland to try and secure some shared transfer targets last summer, with the likes of Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki firmly on the radars of both clubs.

A similar fight between this season’s newly-promoted outfits could be about to repeat itself this time around, as former Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider last weekend that Sunderland are keen to sign Elliott this summer.

The Scottish businessman outlined that he has heard the Black Cats are strong admirers of the former England U21 star, alongside some of the promoted clubs from the Championship.

Wyness is aware of several sides who are ready to offer Elliott a way out after his “very sad episode” at Villa this term, and that could see Leeds and Sunderland go head to head once again.

Having missed out on both Diarra and Sadiki last term, Farke and Co. will be hoping that it works in their favour on this occasion.
