Harvey Elliott shares major bond with Dominik Szoboszlai after Liverpool win

Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott has shared his feelings on teammate Dominik Szoboszlai after scoring the winner in their Champions League clash with PSG.

It was a remarkable night for Arne Slot‘s side in the Parc Des Princes, as they spent much of the game having to withstand a barrage of attacks from their hosts.

However, a stunning goalkeeping performance from Alisson kept Liverpool in the game, before Elliott came of the bench in the 85th minute, and scored the winner with his first touch less than 60 seconds later.

He’d been on the pitch so briefly Steve McManaman was then shocked when Elliott was forced to warm down with the rest of the Liverpool substitutes after the full time whistle, despite making such a big contribution.

Despite having to go through that extra work though it appears the winger is still in high spirits in the aftermath of his winning goal.

Having performed a smash and grab to claim victory at PSG, Liverpool will be full of confidence ahead of the reverse fixture at Anfield next week.

As a result many were keen to celebrate that result, with Szoboszlai among those react on social media with a post which described the game as having a “Happy ending in Paris”.

In response, Elliott shared that post from the Hungarian international to his own Instagram story, along with a message for his Liverpool teammate.

The winger simply described Szoboszlai as “My brother” underlining the close bond that the two appear to share at Anfield.

This has been a tough season for Elliott, with the 21-year-old not getting the game time would have wanted under Slot so far.

Indeed, that has already led to suggestions that Elliott is unhappy at Liverpool and keen to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

However, making an impact such as this shows just how important the winger can still be to the Anfield club, and may lead to him being given more opportunities.

Comments such as this to Szoboszlai also indicate Elliott still wants to be a part of this squad, which would be understandable given how close to they are to winning some big trophies.

With that in mind, the future outlook for the winger at Anfield may have changed significantly thanks to this one big minute in Paris.
