‘He’s insane’ – Wolves fans erupt at Rob Edwards after ‘disrespectful’ Forest reveal

Wolves ended their losing run on Wednesday with a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest. However, fans were far from happy with the performance.

While the point edged Wolves ever closer to avoiding Derby’s record low point total, it was a horrific display.

Forest had 35 shots against the Old Gold side and somehow didn’t find the net, while Rob Edwards’ side managed just seven.

This was despite Forest being woefully out of form and 17th in the table, with Sean Dyche’s failure to beat Wolves costing him his job at the City Ground on Thursday.

However, despite Wolverhampton Wanderers being destined for relegation, Edwards may not be safe from the chop either, with fans now turning on their manager.

Wolves fans fume with Rob Edwards’ post-match comments vs Nottingham Forest

For Wolves, the rest of the 2025-26 campaign is essentially preparation for their return to the Championship.

With the club 18 points from safety, survival is essentially impossible. Therefore, fans are hoping to see some gradual improvements from the squad with the pressure now off.

However, against Forest, they arguably put in their worst display of the season, and were highly fortunate not to lose 5-0, let alone pick up a point.

Yet, after the match, when Edwards spoke to TNT Sports, he was slightly complimentary of the team, and at one point said: “I thought we showed really good spirit and character.”

Now, this comment has enraged Wolves’ fans, believing that the players showed none of this when out on the pitch as they somehow held onto a draw.

Many are now also calling for Edwards to be sacked, believing that the manager has shown few signs since he came in that he is capable of leading them back to the Premier League next season.

Is Edwards doing enough at Wolves?

While expectations are no doubt low at Wolves, Edwards is seemingly not meeting them at the moment.

So far, he has achieved just a 12.5 per cent win rate, with one of his two victories coming against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup.

While there is no doubt that he has made Wolves slightly more secure at the back, up top, they are struggling, with just nine Premier League goals being scored in the Premier League since his appointment.

Realistically, Edwards is unlikely to be sacked anytime soon at Molineux, with the club having essentially nothing to play for but pride.

However, with Grimsby up next in the FA Cup, a shock defeat here could cost him the support of many of the fanbase, as Wolves’ terrible season continues.
