Heung-Min Son sends four-word message to Tottenham fans
Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son has taken to social media to celebrate their progression to the League Cup semi-finals after their 4-3 win over Man United on Thursday (December 19).
The 32-year-old played the full 90 minutes, scoring directly from a corner kick, to help Tottenham progress to the League Cup semi-finals.
Dominic Solanke opened the scoring after just 15 minutes for the home side, pouncing on Altay Bayindir’s parry from Pedro Porro’s initial shot.
Dejan Kulusevski doubled their lead just after half-time before Solanke got his second to make it 3-0, forcing Ruben Amorim to change his thinking and bring on Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee.
The two substitutes made an almost immediate impact, Zirkzee scored just after the hour-mark, capitalising on Fraser Forster’s attempt to play out from the back.
Forster was then involved again in Diallo’s goal, taking too long on the ball and allowing the Ivorian to close him down, and the ball ricocheted into the back of the net from his attempted long ball.
Son was on hand to ease some anxiety, scoring directly from a corner to make it 4-2 before veteran defender Johnny Evans scored in added time.
The centre-back’s goal was too little too late, however, and Ange Postecoglu’s side will now face Liverpool in the next round.

The South Korean has unsurprisingly been at the centre of everything Spurs have done this season, starting 17 of his 19 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing six assists in 1389 minutes of action.
Son is yet to win a single trophy at Tottenham, with their last piece of silverware coming in the form of a League Cup 16 years ago.
The winger is already looking to the semi-final against Liverpool in the new year, taking to Instagram to celebrate their win over United, saying: “To the semi final!”

Spurs face the prospect of a North London derby should they make it to the final, with Arsenal set to play Newcastle in the other semi after their wins over Crystal Palace and Brentford, respectively.
Postecoglu’s side face Liverpool on Sunday (December 22) in a prelude to their semi, knowing a win could take them as high as sixth.
