Hits and misses: 26-year-old mainstay among three Rangers players who fluffed lines against Hibs

Hit: James Tavernier

Omitted from the starting XI in favour of Lee Hodson for the Motherwell clash, Tavernier was restored to the team and his fellow full-back was deployed at left-back in place of unavailable skipper Lee Wallace.

Tavernier was in the thick of the action, scoring at both ends, as he rekindled memories of his goal and assist drenched 2015-16 campaign.

The 26-year-old headed a cross home from Danny Wilson – his second goal of the week – to give the Gers hope of a late comeback but it did not prove to be enough.

Nevertheless, his all-action display will make him difficult to leave out next weekend.
