26-year-old axed as senior player returns: Celtic expected XI v Motherwell
GOALKEEPER AND DEFENCE
Craig Gordon (Goalkeeper) – Expected to replace Scott Bain with the 26-year-old likely to be axed. Gordon has been a mainstay of the side and the 36-year-old senior player is highly likely to be back in the team now that he was returned to full training ahead of the cup final.
Mikael Lustig (Right-back) – Expected to keep his place in the team, if has been an up and down season for the Swede but he has returned to good form in the last few weeks of the season.
Dedryck Boyata (Centre-back) – Expected to keep his place in the team as he is a long-time favourite of Brendan Rodgers and has put in some, by his standards, good performances in recent weeks.
Kristoffer Ajer (Centre-back) – The 19-year-old has been one of the finds of the season, and is expected to partner Dedryck Boyata in what has been a mostly solid partnership for the Hoops this season.
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – The in-demand left-back will be expected to be a big player for the Hoops in both attack and defence, hopefully he will be back at the Hoops next season despite all the speculation.
