Hugo Lloris ‘wants out’ of Tottenham amid ‘big’ claim – expert

Alan Hutton has insisted Hugo Lloris will “want out” of Tottenham if they sign a “big name” goalkeeper.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back claimed Lloris will want to continue playing until the end of his career.

Lloris, 36, is out of contract in June 2024 after joining the Lilywhites back in 2012.

On 28 January, sources told this site that Antonio Conte’s side are keeping close tabs on Everton star Jordan Pickford ahead of a potential summer move.

Pickford is viewed as a top target for Spurs as they seek a long-term replacement for Lloris and they will continue to monitor his situation until the end of the season.

Lloris has come under fire recently after a number of high profile mistakes, most notably in the London derby against Arsenal.

During his lengthy spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the France international has racked up 442 appearances and has kept 150 clean sheet.

When asked if Lloris will be happy to stay at Tottenham if he is not number one, Hutton told Football Insider:

I think that if you are a World Cup winner you are number one,” he told Football Insider.

He has been there for a long period of time now, captained as well. For him to go from that to sitting on the bench would be very difficult.

Especially at the age he is at, he probably wants to spend the rest of his time playing.

So it would not surprise me that if they did bring in a big name he would maybe want out of there.
