Hull City could accept ‘huge’ Charlie Hughes offer amid Crystal Palace interest
Hull City could be tempted to cash in on Charlie Hughes should a “huge” offer arrive either in January or at the end of the season.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who represented Hull during his playing days, told Football Insider that the club’s high turnover of players in recent years could mean the centre-back is also allowed to make a move.
The likes of Jacob Greaves, Jaden Philogene, Keane Lewis-Potter and Jarrod Bowen have all made moves to the Premier League in recent years, and Hughes could be next.
The 22-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Tigers so far this season and is their vice-captain thanks to his impressive displays and leadership.
As a result, Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace scouts have been tracking Hughes and have been impressed by his recent performances.

Hull City could allow Charlie Hughes to join Crystal Palace
Brown told Football Insider on 21 January that Hughes would be the ideal Marc Guehi replacement for Crystal Palace thanks to his similar skillset.
The centre-back is on the radar of a number of other Premier League clubs as well, and Hull could be prepared to let him leave for the right price.
“It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Hughes,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He got a move from Wigan to Hull, established himself as a big part of the Hull team, and a move to Crystal Palace would be the logical next step.
“It would allow him to go into the Premier League and continue his development.
“The thing is about Hull, and I know from people I speak to at the club, they’ll have no reservations about changing five or six players, especially if they don’t go up.
“They’re not afraid to sell players if the right offers come in, it’s not a case of trying to keep hold of them to build the squad and get promotion, they’re up and down.

“We’ve seen it with their star players year after year moving on to Premier League clubs.
“With Charlie Hughes, they might’ve found their latest diamond who they can sell, and if a huge offer comes in for him I think they’ll let him go.”
Crystal Palace manager update emerges at Selhurst Park
Guehi’s exit earlier in the January transfer window has forced the Eagles to consider centre-back options, but their managerial situation remains a priority.
After Oliver Glasner confirmed he will leave Selhurst Park in the summer, the Eagles have set their sights on a number of potential replacements.
Football Insider revealed on 25 January that Crystal Palace are interested in Andoni Iraola and feel they could beat Man United to the Bournemouth boss.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard is also a contender for the Eagles, with his stock having risen thanks to Coventry’s charge to the top of the Championship table.
However, Football Insider revealed Coventry are determined to keep Lampard at the CBS Arena and hope they can deter interest by winning promotion.
