Hull City submit six-figure bid for Alfie Gaston – sources
Hull City have submitted a £150,000 bid to sign Northern Irish sensation Alfie Gaston from Coleraine, sources have told Football Insider.
Gaston, 16, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Northern Ireland after making his senior debut aged just 15 in May 2023.
Hull are looking to steal a march on multiple English clubs interested in sealing the teenager’s signature this summer by making an early bid.
The midfielder would have to wait for his 17th birthday before signing a professional contract with the Tigers, should a deal be reached with his club.

Having made his debut from the bench in 2023, Gaston was handed his first senior start in April as Coleraine drew with Linfield at Windsor Park.
The 16-year-old impressed on his full debut and did not look out of place in senior football, having trained with the first team throughout last season.
Coleraine boss Oran Kearney was full of praise for his display that day and confessed the youngster would be ready for more involvement at senior level.
Premier League outfits such as West Ham and Crystal Palace have recently recruited out of Northern Ireland to strengthen their academy sides, with Hull the latest to follow suit.
The offer of £150,000 would rank inside the top six highest fees received by a Northern Irish club, for a player with just five senior appearances to his name.

Gaston is the nephew of former Northern Irish international Rory Hamill who represented Southampton and Fulham early in his career and won three Irish Cups.
