‘Hurzeler to punish Brighton squad Sunday after 7-0 Nottingham Forest collapse’
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler will take action against his squad after their humiliating defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest, Gabriel Agbonlahor has said.
It was an afternoon to forget for the Seagulls as they made the trip to The City Ground on Saturday (1 February) as they were thrashed 7-0 by Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The visitors certainly did not help themselves in falling to such a humiliating defeat, gifting Forest the opener with an own goal, and also conceding a penalty after some clumsy defending from Tariq Lamptey.
As a result Agbonlahor does not believe Hurzeler will be going lightly on his Brighton players in the wake of such a below-par performance.
Taking to X to give his thoughts on that dismal showing from the Seagulls, the former Aston Villa striker wrote: “Deary me Brighton lol! They will be in tomorrow for training lol.“

Football Insider Verdict
There are plenty of fans of the club who will have taken plenty of time and spent a lot of money to go and watch that performance from Hurzeler’s side against Forest.
They will rightly be furious with what they saw from that Brighton team, and so will expect a significant reaction as soon as possible.
Bringing them in for training when they would likely have a day off otherwise will certainly show they are taking this as seriously as possible, and working towards putting this behind them.
As good as Forest may have been in claiming that result, no team with the quality Hurzeler’s possess should be on the end of such a heavy defeat.
After such a promising start under Hurzeler, Brighton have flattered to deceive at times this season, and results such as this are only going to put pressure on him to help this team realise its potential.

His predecessors have all helped the club to progress, and questions may emerge about whether he can keep them going in that direction if they do not respond quickly to a result like this.
Coming down fast and decisively with training immediately after such a heavy defeat, may be one way he can take steps towards doing that.
