Hutton issues emphatic Richarlison verdict after ‘nasty’ Tottenham reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed Richarlison is going to be a squad player for Tottenham this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs defender said Antonio Conte will utilise the 25-year-old as he cannot rely “heavily” on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Richarlison has been on the bench for the two Tottenham fixtures he has been eligible for, including Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
He has been brought on in the second half of both games.
As quoted by Football.London (19 August), Antonio Conte heaped praise on Richarlison and said he likes the “nasty” side of his game.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Richarlison’s role at Spurs this season, Hutton said: “I didn’t think Conte would go down the route of, who was the worst that week it’s time for a change.
“I think if you look at Tottenham they’re going to try and compete on all fronts.

“There’s the Champions League coming up, cup games coming up, internationals. So there’s going to be a lot of games. I think it will be more like he’ll have to rotate the squad, people will play minutes you can’t just rely heavily on Kane and Son.
“If somebody is not pulling their weight or scoring the goals that they need to then of course he’ll make changes. We’ve seen in the past, he’s not scared to do that so it’s all about taking your chance when it comes.“
