Hutton issues ‘massive’ Malik Tillman verdict after Rangers development
Alan Hutton has insisted Malik Tillman will be a “massive threat” for Rangers in the Champions League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Tillman, 20, has fit “seamlessly” into Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team.
The Bears beat PSV Eindhoven 1-0 on Wednesday (24 August) to secure their place in the Champions League group stages.
They join fellow Glasgow club Celtic in the European competition.
Antonio Colak scored the only goal of the second leg, with Tillman providing the assist.
On 15 July the Bears confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.
The deal includes an option to buy the attacking midfielder.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Tillman’s performance, Hutton said: “I think he’ll be a massive threat for Rangers moving forward.

“At only 20 years of age, did I think he was going to come in and hit the ground running this quickly? Probably not. I think you can see that he’s got that technical ability, especially when he goes away abroad to play, he’s used to that style of football.
“He’s settled in really well and he plays with a lot of maturity and we saw that in his game last night. I think he brings a lot to the team and with Joe Aribo leaving he kind of fits that bill and he’s gone in seamlessly.“
