Hutton makes ‘amazing’ Kelleher claim after Celtic source’s transfer reveal
Celtic are unlikely to secure a deal for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher in the January transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton claimed that “fans should be optimistic” about signing the shot-stopper in the summer.
As revealed by Football Insider (16 January), Jurgen Klopp’s side are not willing to accept any bids for the reported Hoops target this month.

Joe Hart has been Brendan Rodgers’ undisputed number one for the last two and a half seasons, but fans have been eager for some competition for the out-of-contract ace.
Hutton hailed Kelleher as an “outstanding” player would could certainly be a long-term replacement for Hart, but could not forsee him moving to Parkhead midseason.
“He’s an outstanding goalkeeper,” he told Football Insider.
“We don’t see too much of him at Liverpool, but when it comes to the cup games, Jurgen Klopp obviously trusts him a lot for him to go and play.
“Every time I’ve watched him, I think he’s been amazing.
“He’s only 25 years old at this stage, so obviously with the Joe Hart situation, the fans always wanted to see somebody come in and put pressure on him.
“I can’t see it happening in January, to be honest, but fans should be more optimistic about it happening in the summer.

“With his experience at a big football club, he ticks all the boxes.
“They’ll be looking at him as the long-term replacement.”
