Hutton reveals Tottenham fear after Lucas Moura breaks silence on future
Alan Hutton has suggested a surplus of players in the forward areas at Tottenham could be the reason fresh contract talks are not forthcoming for Lucas Moura.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs right-back fears the uncertainty over Moura’s future could have an impact on his football next season.
As quoted by Football London (17 July), the 29-year-old is unsure if Antonio Conte’s side will want him to sign another contract with the London club.
The Brazilian international insisted he is “very, very happy” at Tottenham even though next season could be his last.
The forward has one year left on his contract with the Lilywhites that includes the option for a further year.
When asked if he thought the uncertainty surrounding Moura’s future could negatively impact him next season, Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s a difficult one.
“Everybody wants to be tied down to a long-term contract, you want that stability, you want to know where you’re at so you can just concentrate solely on your football.

“As it ticks down and you’re not having conversations with the club, you start to fee a little bit unwanted. Especially if you’re not playing because ultimately that is what you want to be there doing.
“Of course it will play a part in his performances next season. They’re already so stacked in the forward positions so it’ll be a difficult one.“
