Hutton reveals what he’s ‘heard’ about Rangers potentially signing Cameron Bell

Alan Hutton has claimed that Cameron Bell will be one for the future for Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gers right back has insisted the youngster has “bags of potential”.

As revealed by Football Insider (27 June), Rangers are in advanced talks with Everton to sign the 16-year-old.

The young defender has been at Everton since he was seven years old but could be heading back north of the border.

Negotiations are believed to be ongoing between Everton and Rangers but a deal could be in place imminently.

Bell has been playing for Everton under-18s and has also been capped by Scotland at Under-17 level.

Rangers have also been linked with Zak Lovelace, another teenager from south of the border.

As revealed by this site (25 June), Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are closing in on a deal for the 16-year-old.

Hutton claimed that Scottish clubs need to improve their youth setup.

“I think it’s something that Rangers and Celtic as clubs want to improve on. Bringing boys through the academy, show them that there’s a pathway to the first team.” he told Football Insider.

So it’ll be a case of getting these top talents in through the door, showing them the Rangers way and letting them progress naturally and hopefully make the first team.

“I’ve heard some things about him [Bell], he’s obviously very young and so this is one that has bags of potential for the future.”
