Alan Hutton has tipped Helder Costa to leave Leeds United for a promotion-chasing Championship side this summer.
The former Aston Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the “very good” 27-year-old would have plenty of suitors ahead of next season.
As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds are willing to listen to offers for Costa in a bid to boost their transfer coffers for the summer.
The former Wolves attacker, who joined Leeds for £15million last summer, has fallen down the pecking order this term.
He has made just 10 league starts and has not played the full 90 minutes since November.
Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison and Raphinha have been Bielsa’s preferred options out wide.
Hutton, who came up against Costa three times in the Championship, has suggested the winger could make a return to the second-tier this summer.
Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “I think there is a very good player in there. I played against him and I know how difficult that can be.
“So I think there is a good player in there but we’ve not really seen it consistently. He does work hard for the team, you can see that in his performances.
“It’s maybe not just quite worked out the way that Bielsa would want.
“If he sees an opportunity to cash in, I think they can still make some money off him. There’ll be a lot of teams, especially high Championship teams, that will be interested.
“He’s definitely got that X factor on his day so I understand what they’re thinking. If there’s money there to then reinvest in the squad, I’m sure they’ll want to do that and improve.”
