Hutton would ‘love’ Rangers to sign Jobe Bellingham amid ‘huge’ claim
Alan Hutton would ‘love’ Rangers to sign Jobe Bellingham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender backed the Light Blues to beat out competition in England for Bellingham’s signature.
According to TEAMtalk (15 December), the 17-year-old brother of England superstar Jude Bellingham could be set for a move in the new year.
The midfielder’s Birmingham City contract expires in 2024.
Rangers, as well as Newcastle United and a host of clubs across Europe have been keeping tabs on the talented youngster.
Hutton suggested the Ibrox club could beat out the competition.
“I would love them to,” he told Football Insider.
“If rumours are true he is supposed to be better than his older brother was at that age which is an incredible thought.
“To have someone with that potential in at the club would obviously be really exciting for everybody.
“I think as a player looking at it, Michael Beale has a good track record of bringing in younger players, developing them, making them better. It is a huge stage to come in and play on as well.
“Is he guaranteeing him game time? Possibly. I think these all play in the favour of Rangers.

“If you go to Newcastle at 17 are you going to play? It is going to be very difficult.
“Players might look at the Scottish league as a tier down but there is an opportunity to play football regularly and in front of big crowds.“
