Marcus Rashford’s sly dig at Man United proves he was never the problem
Marcus Rashford has become one of several players to thrive away from Manchester United since joining Barcelona on loan.
Rashford’s brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League was two of eight goal contributions he’s accrued since joining the Spanish giants.
Impressively, the 27-year-old has scored or assisted in each of his last five appearances in La Liga, finding his feet straight away after departing Old Trafford.
The England international is one of several players who have flourished away from Man United, and he’s now offered some insight into what has changed.

Marcus Rashford criticises environment at Man United
“I feel like I’ve been in an inconsistent environment for a very, very long time,” Rashford said when asked about his recent time at United.
“So it’s even more difficult to be consistent. I think consistency is what I need to bring into my game. And yeah, I’m looking to do that”.

Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after being frozen out by Ruben Amorim.
The electric forward showcased glimpses of his talent at Villa Park with 10 goal involvements in 17 appearances, and now he’s been given a new lease of life at Barcelona, playing alongside the likes of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.
Rashford’s comments about the ‘inconsistent environment’ at Old Trafford only highlight the off-field issues plaguing Man United and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Ultimately, the commitment and quality he’s shown since joining Barca have only made people realise that he was never the problem, and it was almost impossible for him to perform in a toxic environment.
Chances of Rashford joining Barcelona permanently
Eyebrows were raised when Barcelona signed the Man United outcast, as many felt he didn’t have the technical qualities to flourish in Spain.

Already, he’s proving the doubters wrong by showing some levels of consistency, and the United academy graduate will hope it can lead to a permanent switch.
Football Insider understands that Barcelona are biding their time to sign Rashford, perhaps assessing his performances across the full campaign instead of rushing into an agreement.
Remarkably, Barca can buy Rashford for just £26million, and for a player of his class, that is a bargain waiting to be snapped up.
Turning 28 at the end of October, the Englishman is entering the prime years of his career, and hopefully, they’re spent showing the world there’s even more levels to his incredible talent.
