Ianis Hagi backed to complete Rangers move after source’s reveal – expert

Rangers could be convinced to sell Ianis Hagi this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said that although he would like to see Hagi stay at Ibrox, the club will listen to suitable offers.

On Tuesday (4 July), Football Insider revealed that Italian side Lecce are working on a deal to sign the 24-year-old.

Lecce are believed to have been in contact with the Gers and are keen to strike a deal for Hagi.

The Light Blues are open to selling the attacker in order to boost their transfer budget for the summer window.

The Romania international’s current contract runs until 2026 after penning an extension in December despite a lack of first team action due to injury.

Hutton insisted Hagi’s future at Ibrox is uncertain.

There is definitely a question mark there,” he told Football Insider.

You look at the players the manager has brought in, he has gone heavy offensive with some of his recruitment.

Hagi had a stop start season with a serious injury that did not allow him to play as much football as he wanted but you still think at this moment in time he would be knocked down the pecking order, especially with the new signings.

I would like to see him stay but if they did get a reasonable offer in they would listen to it.

Rangers

The Gers have already confirmed the signing of attackers Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima, as well as attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell.

They join winter arrivals Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin as well as other summer signings Jack Butland and Dujon Sterling.

In other news, Michael Beale agrees eighth Rangers signing with announcement imminent.
