‘Impeccable’ Phillips tipped to dazzle at West Ham after source reveal today – pundit
Nathaniel Phillips can slot straight into the West Ham team if he completes a January move, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old “handled himself impeccably” when called upon by Liverpool last term.
As this site exclusively revealed (November 29th), West Ham are lining up a move for Liverpool outcast Nathaniel Phillips in January.

A Hammers source has told Football Insider that the centre-back is on their list of January targets and they are laying the groundwork for a potential deal.
Phillips made 20 appearances last season as Liverpool struggled with injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip – among others.
When asked about the prospect of the Englishman joining West Ham, Whelan told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s a player who has shown he can handle the Premier League and can handle playing on a big stage.
“He got that experience last year with all the injuries at Liverpool. I think he did really well when you consider the massive pressure of playing at Anfield and pulling on that famous Liverpool shirt.
“I thought he handled himself impeccably.
“Moyes has got a knack of identifying good, British players. He knows what he wants in the squad. He knows which players he’s going to be able to improve and progress.
“Moyes has built a really strong team full of players who will work really hard to win football games, and Phillips can slot right into that.”

Angelo Ogbonna sustained an ACL injury earlier this month – and Moyes expects the West Ham defender to be out for the season.
Phillips has played just 134 minutes of football for Liverpool this term.
